Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office officials said a burned body found Tuesday inside a parked truck is that of the missing University of Houston student.

03/13/09 – On Thursday, volunteer searchers cleared the area immediately surrounding where Mohammed was last seen.  Additionally, some areas around the University of Houston were searched and cleared, without finding Mohammed.  Due to inclement weather, along with having no further leads as to Mohammed’s location, EquuSearch leaders stopped the search late in the afternoon.  The continuing search for Mohammed Marfani has been temporarily suspended, until we receive credible information that can place us into a specific area to search. Information regarding any further searches for Mohammed, if needed, will be posted on this website.

03/12/09 – 3:00 p.m. Update – The search for 25 year old Mohammed Marfani is being temporarily suspended, pending receipt of new information and an improvement in the weather.  Approximately 35 volunteers have been searching all day in the Midtown Houston area.  Although we have not yet found Mohammed, we are not giving up and will work with the family and law enforcement to schedule additional search dates.  Please watch this website for further updates.

We wish to extend a most heartfelt thank you to all who came out to participate in today’s search.  Your time, your effort and your willingness to help a family in need, in spite of the difficult weather conditions is sincerely appreciated.

03/12/09 – 12:30 p.m. Update- A group of 30-35 searchers is currently scouring the South and Southeast Midtown Houston area in the search for Mohammed.  We are looking for tips or any information that would lead us to Mohammed or other areas to search.  Anyone wishing to volunteer should report to the Command Center as soon as possible.  The Command Center is located at Little Woodrow’s, 2306 Brazos Street, at the corner of Hadley.  Our hopes are that we can locate Mohammed and bring him home safely, in time to celebrate his 26th birthday tomorrow.  Please keep him and his loved ones in your prayes.

03/12/09 – Volunteers are showing up for the search for Mohammed Marfani this morning, in spite of cooler weather and the chance of rain.  We are still in need of more searchers, and in special need of experienced searchers to act as team leaders.  All searchers must be at least 18 years old and present a valid photo ID.  Please see the map below for directions to the Command Center.

03/11/09 – Texas EquuSearch will begin a large scale search effort for missing 25 year old Mohammed Marfani on Thursday morning, March 12.  Volunteers are needed to search on foot and on ATV’s.  The Command Center is located at Little Woodrow’s, 2306 Brazos Street, at the corner of Hadley in downtown Houston.  Volunteers should report to the Command Center at 9:00 a.m.  Search Coordinator Frank Black can be reached at 713-301-6813.  Please continue to watch our website for further information.

Mohammed Usamah Marfani, age 25, was last seen on Friday evening, March 6, 2009 at a club in the 2500 block of San Jacinto in downtown Houston, TX.  He is approximately 6 ft tall and weighs 145 pounds, with short black hair and wearing glasses.  If you have any information as to Mohammed’s whereabouts, please contact the Sugarland, TX Police Department at 281-275-2500.
