FOUND DECEASED: M.L. Berry, 63 Yrs., Hazlehurst, MS, 02/17/11

02/17/11 — On Thursday, February 17, 2011, Dennis and Tammy Watters of Team Watters arrived to assist in the search for Mr. Berry.  This was at the request of family members.   Deputy Sherman Berry, nephew of M.L. Berry, is a Deputy for Lafourche Parish, Louisiana.  He contacted Texas EquuSearch because he knew of our recent recovery of Brian Reed from the Mississippi River.  Team Watters are Texas EquuSearch’s sonar experts that have worked with us on many cases.  They were on another search in Louisiana at the time we received the call for assistance.  They were deployed to Mississippi on Wednesday night, and made the successful recovery of Mr. Berry’s body on Thursday afternoon.

Please keep Mr. Berry’s family and friends in your prayers during their time of grief.

02/16/11 — Mr. Berry fell into a private lake Monday afternoon while he was fishing with his wife in the western portion of the lake about six miles north of Brookhaven. Since Monday, numerous local and state agencies had participated in the search effort, which was scaled back Wednesday to daylight hours only in the interest of safety.
