FOUND DECEASED: Amber Elkins, 20 Yrs., Humble, TX, 07/24/11

07/31/11 — We are very sad to report that the body found by our searchers on Sunday, July 31, 2011, has been positively identified as that of Amber Elkins. We want to thank everyone who participated in this search. The conditions were especially hard due to the heat we are experiencing. We would also like to thank the people in the community who donated food and water to our searchers. Please keep Amber’s family and friends in your prayers during their time of grief. They have a very long road ahead of them ensuring that they get justice for Amber, and the person responsible for her death is punished. We will post funeral arrangements once they become available.

07/30/11 — The search for 20 year-old Amber Elkins will continue at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, July 31, 2011. The Command Post will be at the VFW Hall, 16035 Waverly Drive, Houston, TX 77032 (see map below). We will be in need of foot searchers and ATV searchers. Your Search Coordinator is Ron Overman and his number is (936) 499-1011. Please dress accordingly for adverse weather conditions. Bring your own water and snacks if possible. We will be searching regardless of the weather. Thank you so much.  There will be a candlelight vigil at 7:00 p.m. at the Command Center.

07/28/11— Amber Elkins, age 20, was last seen on Sunday evening, July 24, 2011 in the area of Greens Road and Highway 59 in Harris County, TX. It is not known what Amber was last wearing+.
