Apparent Murder Victim Found While Searching For Missing Dementia Patient

The search for 68 year-old Tommie Lowery had to be temporarily suspended today, because members of the Texas EquuSearch team located the body of adult male in the wooded area where they had been searching for Tommie. However, the body found today is NOT Tommie Lowery.

The search for Tommie was suspended so that Harris County Sheriff’s Department investigators could conduct a thorough investigation at the scene. It appears that the unidentified man is a murder victim, but homicide investigators, and the Medical Examiner must still make that determination.

The search for 68 year-old Tommie Lowery will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 21st 2013 at Bud Hadfield Park. The park is located at 12405 Telge Rd. near Pleasant Grove Rd. in north Harris County, Texas 77429. We will be in need of searchers on foot and ATVs. Please bring your own snacks and water. Your Search Coordinator is Jack Boggess, and he can be reached at (713) 826-3869.

Thank you all for your help.
