FOUND DECEASED: William Harold Gant – Warren, Texas (8/1/16)

UPDATE: The search for William Gant is now over. Searchers have recovered remains that are thought to be those of Willian. However, positive identification must still be confirmed by law enforcement investigators and medical authorities. The Texas EquuSearch team wants to thank the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, the National Parks Service, local & area fire departments, and concerned citizen volunteers from Tyler and Hardin Counties … especially Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford and his diligent deputies for their hard work to find William Gant. We ask that everyone please keep William Gant’s family, friends and his community in your thoughts and prayers during this most devastating time in the lives.

GROUND SEARCH ACTIVATION: The Tyler County Sheriff’s office has requested the help of Texas EquuSearch to find 83 year-old William Gant near Warren, Texas. This is Tyler County, and not the city of Tyler, Texas. The search will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday – August 4th 2016. We will be in need of searchers on foot and ATVs. MISSING: An active search is underway and a Silver-Alert has been issued for William Harold Gant. Mr. Gant was last seen in Warren, Texas on Saturday, August 1, 2016, with his dog in a 2006 Maroon Ford pick-up truck, Texas plates BPS-4995, after leaving his home in Kountze, Texas. Mr. Gant has Alzheimer’s and is considered to be at great risk.
