Major Search Being Organized For Nita Mayo
OCTOBER 5, 2005: A major search is being organized for missing
Hawthorne, Nevada woman, Nita Mayo on Saturday and Sunday, October
15th and 16th. I, Tracy Mayo, along with my Family, as well as Tim
Miller from Texas EquuSearch, Shawn Rocha, and Carole Sund Carrington
Foundation will be organizing this search.
Nita Mayo left her home in Hawthorne, Nev., the morning of Aug.
8. The 5 foot tall 140 pound 64-year-old nurse planned to take a
day trip over the steep and winding Sonora Pass in California, possibly
to go shopping in small villages along the highway. Nita Mayo never
made it home. Nitas car was found about 2½ hours from
her home at the Donnell Vista Overlook which is on Hwy 108 about
12 miles east of Strawberry, CA. The keys were locked inside, but
she could have opened the door with a keypad. Nita's purse, wallet
and cell phone also were in the car. She had her camera and was
wearing prescription sunglasses.
Anyone wishing to join in on this search is asked to meet at the
Strawberry Inn in Strawberry, CA (Hwy 108) at 9am the 15th and/or
16th. We are especially requesting people with Horses, ATVs, dog
teams, and Jeeps to help us in our search for our Mom, Nita Mayo.
We feel it is absolutely imperative that we get as many people
as possible to help us as we are fully aware that Winter is coming
to the Sierra Mountains and we need to find her and bring her home.
Please help us in our continued search for our Mother
.your
support is greatly appreciated.

Texas Equusearch Reports Finding Missing Plane In
Lake Erie
(DICKINSON, TX) - Texas EquuSearch (TES) reported Wednesday that
a downed private plane missing since August 26 has been located
in Lake Erie off the coast of Dunkirk near the Canadian/American
Border. The plane carried University of Edinboro (PA) graduate Lindsey
Meyers, boyfriend Kevin Jestead, and 23-year-old pilot, James Regal.
New York State Police Sergeants Al Garcia and Karl Bloom located
the wreckage after a search of the lake, using coordinates supplied
by TES volunteer Ralph Baird. Divers recovered the bodies of the
three loved ones over the course of several dives on Tuesday and
Wednesday.
At the Regal family's request, TES Founder and Director Tim Miller,
Director of Diving Operations Ted Tarver, and TES volunteers Ralph
Baird and Doug Pernnod flew to Buffalo, New York September 13 to
assist in the search efforts. TES coordinated with members of the
US Coast Guard, the NYSP Dive Team, Buffalo PD and Capt. Dick Spoth
of Lake Erie Towing to narrow the search area where the plane was
thought to have crashed. TES also enlisted the assistance of members
of the St. Louis Sheriffs Department Dive Team, as well as members
of the Telford Volunteer Diving and Rescue Unit from Hartsville,
Pennsylvania.
According to sources close to the couple, Jesteadt, a 2000 graduate
of Slippery Rock High School (PA), planned to propose to Myers,
24, as they flew over Niagara Falls. An investigation is pending
to determine the cause for the crash. Regal, a flight instructor
with more than 4000 flight hours to his credit, was recently notified
that he had been promoted as Northwest Airlines' youngest captain
in the airline's history.
TES expresses it gratitude to the many companies and individuals
who participated in and sponsored the search efforts, without whose
help this search would not have been possible.
