We were made aware early this morning of the awful situation that unfolded on Facebook and are taking this very seriously. Mr. Barbaria is not, nor has he ever been, an employee of Texas EquuSearch. He did register as a member with our organization in 2012 but has never participated in any activities, including new member orientation. This is where our familiarity with him ends.
Please know that we absolutely, without hesitation, condemn the behavior and words of Mr. Barbaria. We are mortified at his expression of hatred and his attack on Mr. Rashid, which is in direct opposition to everything we stand for at Texas EquuSearch. It is our singular mission to bring peace to the families we help and to the communities we support. We have promptly taken action to revoke Mr. Barbaria’s membership effective immediately.
We are incredibly proud of our organization, our membership base, our volunteers and our donors who go to great extremes and sacrifice to find those who are lost, regardless of race, religion or any other factors outside of being HUMAN. It matters not to us who you are or what you do in life. If you disappear, we will do everything in our power to bring you home.
