10/22/09 — It is with a heavy heart that we report the body of Somer Renee Thompson was located yesterday in a Georgia landfill. Please keep Somer’s family, friends and the entire community of Orange Park Florida in your thoughts and prayers during their time of grief. We would like to thank all of our volunteers, the community volunteers, the U.S. Navy, FDLE, Clay County Sheriff’s Office and all other supporting law enforcement agencies for their incredible work on this case. If it were not for the quick detective work on this case, little Somer’s body may never have been found. If you ask Tim Miller, he will tell you the only thing worse than losing a child is never knowing what happened to to them.

We now need to focus on finding the monster responsible for this tragedy and bring them to justice. We have all the confidence in the world that this will be accomplished.

The following is a thank you letter from Rich Giles. To read, click here.

MY heart felt prayers go out to Somer’s family tonight. I am so very very sorry, no child should know the fear of being abducted & no parent should know the pain of a child being murdered. I hope God wraps his loving arms around her family tonight.
Tim & all those who searched, thank you once again for being where a lost child needed you. May God Bless you all and keep you safe.

Precious Angel you have been failed by this place
Forever shall we remember your lovely little face

Precious Angel we prayed we’d see you again,
But you’ve been taken and left behind is such pain

We pray for mommy, daddy, sibs and all
Never to be the same nor again hear you call

We can’t heal one shattered heart,
Nor can we make evil depart

Yet precious one this promise is made to you,
Always, always we will do what we need to do!

To try to protect all the children we can,
And guard them in this realm of man

We will search and pray for every little one
Until this realm or our own here is done

hearts are completely broken this night….
rest in heaven’s peace little angels, you have your wings

I have been watching this since it started. I have been praying for the family and was going to see about joining in the search. Unfortually on the news just now they said there appears to be a bad ending, they are waiting to confirm it. I hope and pray its not Sumer. I will continue to pray for this family to find the strength to get through this ordeal and hope that they will get comfort from knowing how much people care.
Thoughts and prayers to all the family and searchers.
