03/18/09 – From Fox Houston 03/18/09:

Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office officials said a burned body found Tuesday inside a parked truck is that of the missing University of Houston student.

Texas Equusearch extends its most heartfelt prayers to Mohammed’s family.

03/13/09 – On Thursday, volunteer searchers cleared the area immediately surrounding where Mohammed was last seen.  Additionally, some areas around the University of Houston were searched and cleared, without finding Mohammed.  Due to inclement weather, along with having no further leads as to Mohammed’s location, EquuSearch leaders stopped the search late in the afternoon.  The continuing search for Mohammed Marfani has been temporarily suspended, until we receive credible information that can place us into a specific area to search. Information regarding any further searches for Mohammed, if needed, will be posted on this website.

If you have any information pertaining to the disappearance of Mohammed Marfani or his whereabouts, please contact the Sugar Land Police Department at (281) 275-2500 or Texas EquuSearch at (281) 309-9500.  Our continued thoughts and prayers go out to his loving family and friends.

03/12/09 – 3:00 p.m. Update – The search for 25 year old Mohammed Marfani is being temporarily suspended, pending receipt of new information and an improvement in the weather.  Approximately 35 volunteers have been searching all day in the Midtown Houston area.  Although we have not yet found Mohammed, we are not giving up and will work with the family and law enforcement to schedule additional search dates.  Please watch this website for further updates.

We wish to extend a most heartfelt thank you to all who came out to participate in today’s search.  Your time, your effort and your willingness to help a family in need, in spite of the difficult weather conditions is sincerely appreciated.

03/12/09 – 12:30 p.m. Update- A group of 30-35 searchers is currently scouring the South and Southeast Midtown Houston area in the search for Mohammed.  We are looking for tips or any information that would lead us to Mohammed or other areas to search.  Anyone wishing to volunteer should report to the Command Center as soon as possible.  The Command Center is located at Little Woodrow’s, 2306 Brazos Street, at the corner of Hadley.  Our hopes are that we can locate Mohammed and bring him home safely, in time to celebrate his 26th birthday tomorrow.  Please keep him and his loved ones in your prayes.

03/12/09 – Volunteers are showing up for the search for Mohammed Marfani this morning, in spite of cooler weather and the chance of rain.  We are still in need of more searchers, and in special need of experienced searchers to act as team leaders.  All searchers must be at least 18 years old and present a valid photo ID.  Please see the map below for directions to the Command Center.

03/11/09 – Texas EquuSearch will begin a large scale search effort for missing 25 year old Mohammed Marfani on Thursday morning, March 12.  Volunteers are needed to search on foot and on ATV’s.  The Command Center is located at Little Woodrow’s, 2306 Brazos Street, at the corner of Hadley in downtown Houston.  Volunteers should report to the Command Center at 9:00 a.m.  Search Coordinator Frank Black can be reached at 713-301-6813.  Please continue to watch our website for further information.

I feel very saddened by the passing of Mohamed, I worked with him at the Marriott in Sugarland. Very nice guy with worked with. All my prayer will be with the deceased and his family. I want full investigation on this, I do NOT believe this is NOT a foul play just like the Chronicle reported. There’s a lot of question need to be answered. FBI forensic need to step in this and find out who committed this crime. My allah blessed your soul and accept you in Janna.

I am very saddened to hear of the premature death. As a parent I can only imagine the pain and pray for relief for their pain.
SASA or the South Asia Society of America at HCCS was created to help our young who face a huge burden that often their parents are unaware of. SASA tries to build a bridge between the two so that each can see reality and move ahead in life accordingly.
Please join me in trying to ease the pain that many of our youngsters face. Please do not label anyone as “bad” or otherwise. Nobody really knows their true struggles. Instead, lets work together to ease their path. Please do not be in denial and wait till it is too late. Face reality and think of others children as your own!
